The Benefice Choir
We are a mixed church choir of all ages and always warmly welcome new members. We lead the worship by singing at services on Sundays and at special events for Advent, Christmas and Easter.
Practice is on Thursdays during term time from 7-8pm at St Mary’s Church, Standon
We follow the training programmes of the Royal School of Church Music and sing with other church choirs in the East Herts Church Choirs Association and at Cathedrals. A service of Choral Evensong is sung each month at St Mary's at 6pm on the fourth Sunday (except in December).
Recently our choir has had the privilege of singing services in Bury St Edmunds, Winchester, Canterbury and Southwark Cathedrals.
Our churches are regularly used for concerts and recitals. There are pipe organs and keyboards in our churches and a Grand Piano in St Mary's. Upcoming concerts and events:

26th November, (No concert in December), 28th January, 25th February, 25th March and 22nd April. Refreshments from 11.30 followed by an informal concert at 12.30 We look forward to seeing you! Christmas Crackers
A concert of Christmas music Thursday 11th December 7pm at St Mary’s with Standon Sing, The Benefice Choir and The Rib Singers directed by David Ranford and Michael Smith. Free Entry. Interval refreshments. Retiring Collection in aid of Isabel Hospice. See poster below.
