St John the Baptist
Hello and Welcome to St John the Baptist, the Parish Church in the heart of the town of Royston (Hertfordshire). Our beautiful church building is currently undergoing major repairs following a serious fire in December 2018 and is expected to re-open in Autumn 2022. However church life is continuing in other ways and you are warmly invited to come along to any of events or on-line services or events. Each Sunday we meet in person at Icknield Walk First School at 9am and 10:15am. We also host many other events such as our monthly Tea Time Praise service, house-groups, socials – see our What's On/News and Notices pages for details. We have recently been awarded Eco Church "Bronze" status.
Please have a look around this site to find out more or visit our website. We are also on Facebook or Twitter. If you have any queries about christening, weddings or the reading of Banns of Marriage to be read, do get in touch with us on [email protected]
The parish of Royston is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of St. Albans’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
