Welcome to St Mary's Church, Stapleford.
Jesus said: 'I came that they may have life and have it abundantly' (John 10:10)
We come together to share our life journey with God, to become the people we are meant to be. We want to give thanks to God, know more of His love and serve our community.
Brother, sister, let me serve you;
let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to
let you be my servant too.
We are pilgrims on a journey,
and companions on the road;
we are here to help each other
walk the mile and bear the load.
We welcome people of every age and stage of faith. Join us at 11.15 am most Sundays and at other times as detailed in the Services and Events section of this website. Our beautiful and historic church is a special place to mark the important events of our lives: baptisms (christenings), thanksgivings, weddings, renewals of vows and funerals as well as sharing our hopes and fears with God in weekly worship.
We are part of the Diocese of St Albans, click under Pages and Links opposite for information and events. We share its vision of ‘Going deeper into God, Making new disciples and Transforming communities’. We have adopted the Diocese's Safeguarding policies and practice. Safeguarding contact: Nicola Page 01992 302501
What about children?
The Parish has a small, highly successful Church of England School which is actively involved in Church life through weekly collective worship, special services in church, visits and termly ‘Messy Church’. We have activity bags for children in church. On the 2nd and 4th Sundays children are part of our all age Family Service.
Share in the life of the church

Join the team who tend the churchyard – contact George Sandell 01992500422. Use your skills with flower arranging, cleaning, church maintenance or special events – contact the wardens to volunteer.
