Sunday Services in church

Don't worry if you're unfamiliar with 'church services', you are very welcome to join us in person at any of our services in either of our church buildings. Everyone gets a leaflet to follow, and our ministers won't expect you to do any more than you're comfortable with!

At Holy Trinity on the Old Town High Street

There is a service of Morning Prayer at 8:30am for 30 minutes.

The main service is at 9.45 am. This is a eucharist service with the distribution of communion. We sing hymns, hear a sermon, and are led in prayers. There are usually 50 – 70 of us (sometimes including 1-2 young families) and the service lasts for about an hour and a quarter. You may like to stay for coffee after the service in the parish room and meet with other members of the congregation. On the first Sunday of month there is often a shared brunch after coffee.

The first video below is an example service from Pentecost Sunday 2026.

At Christ the King in Symonds Green

We meet at 11 for coffee, and start the service at 11.30. There are usually 12-20 of us (often at least one family with children) and we're finished by 12.30. Every week we sing hymns and songs, hear a sermon or reflection, and are led in prayers. The service may be a Eucharist (praising God, remembering Jesus' last supper and his death and resurrection, and welcoming him among us), or a Service of the Word (a more reflective service without 'Communion').

The second video below is an example service from the Feast of Christ the King 2024.
