The Parish of Thorpe is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) Mary Morris. The Diocese of Guildford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Due to lockdown restrictions and our desire to keep everyone safe at this time of pandemic, attendance in person at St Mary's Church for this Mass/Eucharist is restricted to 30 people max, and you must follow our Covid-secure procedure: Arrive well before the start time, please wear a well-fitting face-covering, and enter the buildings via the Rutherwycke Room kitchen/back door, then wash your hands before signing in (Test & Trace require name, time and contact phone number). There is a glass jar for your offering/donation (A contact-less machine is also available upon request). Collect a recycle-able service sheet, which will have a post-it note attached. Once in Church, place this on top of your chosen chair. Please sit 2 meters/6ft (3 chairs) from another individual/family group. Please do not sing – you can hum along quietly with our mask on. The physical exchange of the peace and the sharing of the Common Cup have been suspended. Please keep to social distancing and our one-way-system around and through the church at all times. THANK YOU for complying with these rules to KEEP US ALL SAFE.
