FRIENDS OF ST JAMES EVENT – ‘LIFE’S A SOAP OPERA’ WITH GUEST SPEAKER Carole Boyd

Occurring
for 2 hours
Venue
St James' Church, Weybridge
Address
Church Street Weybridge, KT13 8DE, United Kingdom

On 16th May you will have an opportunity not only to ‘circulate and scintillate’ and then be entertained by a witty and experienced speaker, but also to support Weybridge’s architectural gem.

On arrival from 7 pm at the Parish Centre, canapes and a glass of fizz will be served, followed at 8 pm with our guest Carole Boyd giving us an insight into the multi-personality life of a character actor. Bringing a character to life by voice alone is no easy feat, accustomed as we are to watching our TV and film screens. Carole’s role as the complex Lynda Snell in Radio 4’s long-running series, ‘The Archers’, will no doubt be mentioned, especially as this year is its 75th anniversary.

Including the arrival treat, tickets are £17.50 for this very sociable evening and are available on Sundays at coffee; alternatively, ring 01932 846722 or 07930318015. Do tell your friends and neighbours!

Safeguarding

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS IN OUR CHURCH
In February 2017 the House of Bishops approved a set of safeguarding commitments for implementation in dioceses and parishes. These six commitments now form the foundation for all current and future safeguarding policies and practice guidance documents, including an updated national safeguarding policy approved by our PCC and reviewed annually.

Weybridge PCC is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) named Donna Miller. Our Diocese of Guildford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."

Our PSO is Donna Miller. [email protected] 07790 005519 [email protected]
Our DIOCESAN SAFEGUARDING TEAM can be reached on 01483 790379 or via email [email protected]
