Our Season of Blessing begins with the Blessing of the Backpacks and Bicycles on Sunday 7 September 2025, where we celebrate all our students and teachers where studies and age have no barrier. We would love to give a blessing to them and all our students and teachers are invited to receive a blessing during this service.
Today is also car free Sunday in Ghent. Why not ride your bicycle to church and get your bicycle blessed? Or come by bus or tram and get your travel pass blessed?

Welcome to St John’s Anglican Church, a predominantly English speaking Christian community in Ghent, Belgium.

Our vibrant community comprises of people from all over the world and of many nationalities, races, languages, denominations and faith backgrounds. Together we strive to follow the way of Jesus.

We regularly come together for services held in English and Dutch at the beautiful church of the Old St Elizabeth Beguinage.

The Chaplaincy of St John’s Ghent is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Chaplaincy Safeguarding Officer (CSO).
