Christ Church in the Manche, Normandy, France welcomes you!
Bienvenue - Welcome! to Christ Church in the Manche
We are a Chaplaincy of the Church of England Diocese in Europe, serving primarily the west side of the Cotentin Peninsula, in Normandy, France. The Church of England is part of the Anglican Communion, an informal family of self-governing Churches reflecting many cultures and languages. Anglican congregations can be found in nearly every country in the world.
As an Anglican Church in this part of France we extend a warm welcome and Christian ministry to English-speaking Christians from all denominations. Worship is in a broad-based Anglican style and mostly in English, with ministry available in French as needed. Thanks to the hospitality of the Bishop and Diocese of Coutances and Avranches, and of the local communes, we normally worship weekly in the village churches at Gratot: Homméel (near Coutances), and at Virey (in the south of the Departement between Ducey and St Hilaire du Harcouët).
We invite you to join us for worship, or for any of our other activities: if you need our ministry, whether as a resident or a visitor, or would like to ask any questions, please contact a member of the Leadership Team. We will be glad to help if we can, or to put you in touch with other forms of help if more appropriate.
The Chaplaincy of Christ Church in the Manche is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Chaplaincy Safeguarding Officer, (CSO). The Diocese in Europe’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our CSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the gendarmes and local Social Services (your Mairie will have contact details).
