The roads up to the church are quite narrow. If you prefer, you can park by the river on Promenade Albiot; it's a couple of minutes' walk from there up to the church.

Services are in English, with French translations available for the majority.

Our Building

St George's was built by and for the English just before the First World War. It stands on the edge of a beautiful conservation area which includes the Casino, the Hotel de Portugal and its park.

We have a large selection of books in English (mostly fiction), available to take away for a minimum donation of 1€

Music and Worship

The church contains the only ring of bells in France hung for change ringing. They were cast in 2018 and 2019 by John Taylor & Co of Loughborough and were inaugurated on Easter Day, 2019. With a tenor of just over 5cwt, they are the world's second lightest ring of ten bells in a church. Service ringing is at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays. Visiting ringers are most welcome, but you should check that there are enough ringers available to ring. Contact details are on our website. We Practices are on Saturday afternoons, at 17:00.

Details op concerts and other events in the church appear on our website. A yoga group meets in the church on Mondays at 11:00. New participants welcome.

The organ came from a church on Humberside which no longer wanted it. It was dismantled there and re-assembled in St George's around fifteen years ago. It's a two manual multiplex Walker pipe organ dating from the 1960s and it's perfect for the building, where it is used every Sunday.

Help for Visitors

An A4 leaflet in English, French or Catalan is available in the church or at the Tourist Information Office.

All well-behaved dogs are welcome to bring their humans to our services.

Other Features

We collect cleaning materials and toiletry items for the local foodbank. The official collection takes place on the first Sunday of each month, but in practice you can bring things whenever the church is open. There's a box for your gifts by the organ and coffee table.

The church sits next to a conservation area which includes the impressive Casino and Hotel du Portugal, along with its very attractive park.
