Our Building
Dating back to the 15th Century (perhaps more), the building was originally a palazzo for a wealthy, Florentine family. Purchased by Charles Tooth in 1880, St Mark's served the area in the Oltrarno.
Music and Worship
We host a variety of concerts and performances from locals, and from visiting choirs and orchestras from abroad, along with regular operas.
We have an old (new to us) Sweetland Organ, that was given to us by the Methodist Church in Chynhale,Cornwall.
We use it at every service to accompany our worship and our choir. We also use a piano.
We have a very good, volunteer choir, that helps lead us in our worship. Anyone is free to join
Groups, Courses and Activities
We try and have cultural events once a month.
In the past these have included, Authors talk, Talk about water conservation and usage, Christmas wreath making, Flower arranging for particular events, Quiz nights, Writers groups, Opera, Christmas dinner.
Watch out for new events coming up.
Help for Visitors
We have free wifi available in the church and throughout the building.
We try and open the church during the day so people can come and see our historic building.
This depends on how many volunteers we have to do this.
You are more than welcome to bring your well-behaved dog to church with you.
Other Features
We have a beautiful 15th Century Salone, with a piano, seating and a few tables.
It is on the first floor, with no lift.
