Occurring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St Mark's English Church, Florence
Address
Via Maggio 16 Florence, 50125, Italy

An evocative exploration of Florence’s history, cultural heritage and traditions, narrated through a refined video-storytelling presentation by Erika Ghilardi, director of the Archivio Storico Foto Locchi; one of Italy’s foremost historical photography archives, whose collections have been exhibited in major museums worldwide. With over five million original negatives, the Archivio stands as an enduring guardian of the city’s collective memory.

Through a distinguished selection of more than 150 images, guests will be guided on an immersive journey through 20th-century Florence, from the 1930s to the 1966 Flood, retracing the war years and the rebirth of the fabulous 1950s with the birth of Italian fashion (Gucci, Ferragamo, Pucci…) in the magnificent Sala Bianca of Palazzo Pitti, as well as the great figures who came to visit our city—just to name a few: Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Brigitte Bardot, Louis Armstrong, Humphrey Bogart...

It is a chronicle of suffering and endurance, yet equally of resilience and rebirth—a timeless portrait of Florence and its people.

An exclusive and different way to experience and discover Florence’s past.
