The Season of Creation, or Creationtide, is an annual global celebration that unites Christians of all traditions in prayer, reflection, and action for the protection of God’s creation. It runs from 1 September (World Day of Prayer for Creation) to 4 October (Feast of St Francis of Assisi).
During this season, churches, communities, and individuals are invited to explore the wonder of God’s creation and respond to the ecological challenges facing the planet.
This year, the theme is Peace with Creation, inspired by Isaiah 32:14–18, where the prophet Isaiah describes desolated lands and cities – an Earth without peace. Isaiah reminds us that broken relationships, injustice, and human destructive behaviours have a direct impact on the Earth.
As Anglicans, we are called to renew our commitment to God’s creation, recognising both the challenges and the hope we have to restore and protect it.
