The Hub @ St John’s is a friendly community space in St John’s Community Hall, offering a warm welcome to everyone in the local area. Whether you're looking for connection, a free meal, or just a place to relax, The Hub is here for you. Every Thursday, our doors are open from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM for a relaxed afternoon of activities, food, and friendship. It’s completely free to attend and open to all.

We’re inviting boys and girls aged 7 to 13 (school years 3–8) to join the brand new Upper Norwood Children’s Choir – a vibrant and welcoming community of young singers based at St John’s, Upper Norwood. Whether your child is already passionate about singing or just beginning to explore their voice, we believe all children can sing – and all children belong.

Evening Prayer (Common Worship)

Join us every Friday during term time from 9:30 – 11 AM for PlayTime! – a welcoming, free playgroup for babies and toddlers. With sensory play, crafts, songs, stories, and fresh coffee with home-baked treats for parents, it’s a space for children to explore and for grown-ups to connect.

Mass (Common Worship in contemporary language)

High Mass (Common Worship in contemporary language) with choir and hymns. Children spend part of the service in their own liturgy, returning halfway through.

Evensong and Benediction

Have you experienced the loss of someone close to your heart? Grief can feel heavy, but you don’t have to carry it alone. Compassion Through Loss is a peer-led support group offering a safe, gentle space to share, listen, and reflect together. You are welcome, just as you are.

Looking for a moment of stillness in your week? Join us for Christian Meditation every Tuesday at 2 PM at St John's, Upper Norwood, a peaceful, welcoming time of silent prayer and reflection, a space to rest in God’s presence and simply be. Whether you’ve meditated for years or it’s your first time, everyone is welcome. No pressure. No expectations. Just quiet, calm, and spiritual rest in the heart of South London.

Join us every Wednesday, 3:30–5:30 PM for Messy Meals, a free, friendly event where families of all sorts can enjoy a delicious and nutritious two-course meal together. It's a relaxed time to connect, share good food, and unwind after a busy day. Everyone is welcome!

Join us at 9:30 am on the first Saturday of each month for the Rosary, a quiet time of prayer, reflection, and communion with Our Lady Mary, united with the prayers of the whole Church, both seen and unseen.

This will be followed by the 10 am Low Mass, which will be a Marian Mass, including a hymn at the Offertory.

Join us every second Sunday of the month, 3:30 – 5:30 PM, for Messy Church! An interactive event featuring science experiments, crafts, storytelling, singing, and a hot meal for families. Ideal for children aged 3-12, though all ages are welcome.

Choral Evensong according to the Book of Common Prayer (said BCP Evening Prayer on the last Sunday of the month, with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on the first Sunday of the month)
