Palm Sunday All Age Communion

for 1 hour

A special service to commemorate the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, during which palm branches were placed in his path, before his arrest and crucifixion. There will be a procession, a dramatised reading of the passion story and palm crosses will be given out to the congregation.

Compline for Holy Week

The ancient office of Compline derives its name from a Latin word meaning 'completion'. It is a service of quietness and reflection at the end of the day. Each service will include a short address.

Maundy Thursday Holy Communion

The service will be sung by the St John's Church Choir. Jesus' washing of his disciples' feet will be re-enacted during the service and the congregation are invited to take part if they wish. The service ends with the stripping of the altar, which will remain unadorned until Easter Sunday.
