SPOTLIGHT ON SCRIPTURE WEEK
During the alpha course, we were inspired and challenged to read more of our Bibles. We also recognised that often our individual efforts are aided by guidance and community support. So, our Spotlight on Scripture week will encourage us all to recommit to a daily practice of engaging with the Bible. Please see the timetable below, and some other support available, and let's all enable the light of Scripture to be part of our daily being and doing.

TRINITY SUNDAY 15/6 - a bring and share picnic after the joint service at St Luke's, at Northbrook Park, EX2 6LB, at 12:30 pm. There will be Bibles of different translations, and some books to help explore the Bible, on hand to inspire. Please indicate attendance by contacting warden Jackie Crozier on [email protected]

MONDAY 16/6 - Compline on zoom at 7pm. During this online service there will be a group Bible reflection. All are welcome.

TUESDAY 17/6 - morning prayer at St Margaret's, 9am, which uses beautiful sections of the Bible to frame our day.
Then 6.30-8pm at St Luke's there will be a workshop about Lectio Divina - an accessible, prayerful and powerful way of reading the Bible. Please indicate if attending by booking with Caryll Ingerslev on [email protected]

WEDNESDAY 18/6 - morning worship on zoom at 10am uses a liturgy called ‘Join us in daily prayer’ - again, beautiful passages from the Bible help to inspire and lift the day. Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83435939125?pwd=dnEzNTdhZlAvdWMxTDlIaDJQZVlOUT09#success

THURSDAY 19/6 - join the leadership team in a zoom daily prayer at 8.30am, again using Scripture to pray the day.

FRIDAY 20/6 - morning prayer at St Margaret's, 9am, as on Tuesday.

SATURDAY 21/6 - Jesus spent so much of the Gospels walking. Join the prayer and walking group to experience why the early church sought illumination of the Scriptures outside as much as inside. Please indicate if attending by booking with Gill Yates on [email protected]

You will also find leaflets at the back of each church which can enable you to commit to reading the daily Gospel each day this week.

St Luke's, Countess Wear

A very warm welcome to you.

The churches of St Margaret's Topsham and St Luke's Countess Wear work together with our Vicar Revd Louise Grace and leadership team to outreach to both areas. Our mission values spring forth from the two great commandments, to Love God and to love our neighbours as ourselves. We aspire to be faithful in worship and prayer, whilst outward looking in service to our communities. Our charism is to be inclusive and generous in spirit and hospitality. Did anyone say cake?

We hope you will find these webpages helpful and inspiring. You will find information about our services and other events, especially music; news and notices; provision for families; prayer ideas; a Daily Reflection each day; Zoom links to join our online services; a donations page to allow you to make donations easily online; opportunities to volunteer, and lots more information about the church and how to get in touch with us.

There are several pages to look at - just click on the relevant tab on the left-hand side of the screen. In some cases, a section contains more than one page, so remember to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the arrow in order to navigate to the next page.

We hope very much to see you at our services and other events. Everyone is very welcome. And please do get in touch if you need any spiritual or pastoral support, or someone to pray with or for you, or simply just a listening ear.

Blessings and warmest wishes to all.
