About the church

The church houses a reredos by the famous Victorian artist Gilbert Scott (originally this was in the Cathedral) and a further splendid reredos in the Lady Chapel which was set up by residents at the end of the second world war as a thanksgiving for peace.

It also houses a nationally famous set of Taylor 8 bells which were bought installed in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. They are rung regularly before the 10.30 service on Sunday with practice night at 7.30 on Thursdays.

The three manual organ is also of a high standard.
