Revd Mark Ward, our vicar, and Mike Smith, the PCC (church council) vice-Chair, both spoke warmly of the devoted service both our Churchwardens have given, looking after the church buildings at Venn Ottery and Tipton St. John and the parish church family. Mike presented them with cards and gifts from the congregation. Although both were elected to the PCC for the coming year, so we will still benefit from their experience and expertise, no-one has come forward to take on the role of churchwarden as yet, and the PCC as a whole will have to ensure the continued running of the church and buildings.
