Service of Holy Communion for Palm Sunday

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St John the Evangelist
Address
Unnamed road Tipton St. John Exeter, EX10 0AG, United Kingdom

There will be Bible readings, telling the story of the first Palm Sunday (Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem), a sermon on that, hymns, liturgy and prayers. We use Order One of Common Worship for our Communion service: all are welcome to receive God's blessing at the altar rail. If it is your custom to receive Communion, please come and share the bread wafers and wine with us at the rail. Gluten-free wafers are available on request. Children are very welcome at this service: if they want they can play with books and toys at the back of the church (near the font) or bring them back to their pew to play with there. Do stay for chat and refreshments afterwards!

Safeguarding

Our parish of Tipton St John with Venn Ottery is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Exeter’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [Jenny Parkin. Phone 01404 811720] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [https://exeter.anglican.org/resources/safeguarding/safeguarding-team/]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.

If you are a young person and you feel unhappy about something happening to you, you can call Childline on 0800 11 11.
