Each year awards are made for Sidmouth people, schools, businesses and organisations that have shown leadership as sustainability champions. A wide range of organisations has been nominated for the organisations' award, including the Sid Valley Mission Community. Several of the churches in the Mission Community have been awarded accreditation as EcoChurches, and together with other churches they have provided advice to church members and the wider public about climate change and about reducing personal impact. In 2023, the big event was the "Change for Good" evening, held at All Saints Church, at which Simon Jupp, the local MP, was a keynote speaker. A large audience then went on to estimate their own carbon footprints.
