About Us

St Matthew's Church, Landscove, welcomes you!

This is a beautiful mid 19th Century church, designed by John Loughborough Pearson, who later became the architect of Truro Cathedral.  It has a pretty Victorian broached spire, rather untypical of the Devon style, and the attractive churchyard is approached through a delightful Grade II listed slate-roof, buttressed lychgate.

Along with the church, the school and Hill House Nursery, Landscove village (including the hamlets of Memory Cross, Barkingdon, Beara, Woolston Green, Gullaford, Blacker Barton and Thornecroft) is a thriving community.
