About Us

St. John the Evangelist is a medieval, church and is so rural that it is not an easy place to find – but well worth the challenge! The Church path goes through the middle of a farm and past a cottage, (once the old parish workhouse), adjoining the churchyard, where you will see the most wonderful views.

Before most services the six bells are rung by our team of bell ringers.

It is the people that make a Church and ours has a welcoming atmosphere which buzzes with conversation both before and after our fortnightly services. Our small congregation loves to receive and welcome visitors, and we are part of the South Molton Mission Community.

Our special services, such as the annual Plough Sunday Service, where an ancient plough is carried through and the Songs of Praise (service where we are also known for our refreshments!), people come from far and wide and the Church is well-filled.

The minister responsible for this church is the Team Vicar, Revd David Coleman.
