All Creatures Great and Small: A service of blessing for our pets

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Salisbury Cathedral
Address
West Walk Salisbury, SP1 2EJ, United Kingdom

Bring your pets or pet photographs as we bless and give thanks for all God’s creatures. The service takes place at the west end of the Cathedral, with the great West Doors open so you can join us from inside or out on the lawn*. Enjoy readings, hymns, and beautiful creation-themed music sung by the Cathedral choir, including anthems by John Rutter and Andrew Carter, and an excerpt from Joseph Horovitz’s Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo.

*Animals which usually live inside the house are welcome inside the Cathedral, and any animals which usually live outside the house are welcome to participate from outside the West Doors. Please keep your pets contained either with a lead, harness or carrier.

Please make sure to check our website before you visit. Here, you can find the latest information regarding services, prayer and contemplation as we continue to align and adapt with the times to government guidance.

The parish of Salisbury Cathedral is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Salisbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
