Bloxworth: St Andrew’s

12th September 2026 was the Churches annual Ride and Stride event and Bloxworth was proud to enter 15 riders on behalf of St Andrews. The day was a fabulous example of community spirit and at 10.00am our Curate David started the event with a beautiful blessing. The village riders,their families and many village well wishers all applauded the start and sent us on our way with much laughter and applause. The event continued in excellent spirits and our riders visited many Churches in and around Wareham. It’s fair to also say that some pubs were also visited along the way.Our arrival back at the village was greeted with an even more sizeable crowd and great celebration. We had a reception back at base with food and wine and many more laughs with so many funny anecdotes. Clearly our blessing worked well as we had so injuries and amazingly we raised £2,616 for the Dorset Church Historic Trust. Half of this comes straight back to our Church and the other half goes towards the valuable work of the trust. More news will follow on Church grant applications in future articles.
