12th September 2026 between 10.00am and 4.00pm. This is an annual opportunity to take part in a community event designed to raise money for The Dorset Historic Churches Trust (DHCT) who in turn share 50% of the money raised directly back to the participating Churches. Not only that, but participation entitles the donor Churches to make grant applications to the trust for projects to improve their Church.

So this Bloxworth is delighted to announce that it has 14 yes 14 riders taking part in the event. Not only that, but we have age ranges right across the spectrum from 14 to 68. This is a fabulous group of people from our wonderful village and we are extremely grateful for their contribution.

We have a pre ride meeting in the Bloxworth Village Club on the Friday evening to introduce everyone and to answer questions. On the exciting day we are delighted to welcome our Curate Rev David Reed who will send us off from the Church with his blessings.

Our aim is to cycle between as many Churches as possible as safely as possible with as much fun as possible. It’s not a race it’s a day with friends where we work together for the good of our community.

On our return our support team will switch into the food and beverage team and we will be welcomed back for some much needed food and refreshments.

Bloxworth: St Andrew’s

Welcome to our page and to our lovely Church of St Andrew’s. Our rural community is renowned for its friendly and welcoming attitude. Our village is blessed with people from all backgrounds and with families of all ages. We would love to see you if you are an experienced and devout believer or if you are just beginning your journey of discovery. 

Bloxworth is well known for hosting the annual Dorset Carol Service of 19th century carols, the original eight of which form the nucleus of the Bloxworth collection. With others from the Frome valley, they were published in 1926. Most of the original eight have been sung at Bloxworth every Christmas, at least from the beginning of the 19th century. During the last fifty years the church has generally been packed for this service, which is traditionally held on a Sunday at 3pm in early December. The Church is then full again for the annual Christingle service on Christmas Eve, when villagers and visitors come together to sing carols and once again hear the message of God's love for the world brought by the angel Gabriel to Mary.
