About Us

St Paul’s Church is situated on Kirkgate, which runs through the centre of Shipley. As a church community, we aim to be at the heart of Shipley, making a difference to people’s lives and offering a warm welcome to all. We have been the Parish church since 1826. The church was originally built as a place where people could gather to worship God and to serve the community and we still want to do that today.

We describe ourselves as a welcoming and inclusive Christian community who:

- Worship the living God
- Love our neighbours and our world
- Share the good news

We live this vision out in various ways, not only in our Sunday services, but also in our weekday activities and our engagement with the wider community. We welcome everyone to be a part of this.

We believe that God’s love in Jesus is for all people and we aim to share this in word and deed seven days a week. Our main meeting point is on a Sunday morning during our services. In addition to this, we hold various weekday services, prayer sessions and regular activities which allow members of the congregation and community to come together. Our congregation members also follow Jesus in many other ways during the week through work, living and volunteering. We aim to work closely together with other churches and partner organisations in Shipley. We are excited to see where God is leading us and what difference we can make to the people of Shipley and beyond.
