St.John's Broadstone is the Church of England Parish Church of Broadstone. It is dedicated to St.John the Baptist and it was founded and built at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It tradition has been at the catholic end of the specrum. In recent times it has been reordered, with a central altar, and its ethos might now be described as modern catholic and inclusive.
In 2013 we made a commitment to both treasure the riches of our past tradition and spirituality and to make it a priority to reach out to young people and their families. We have a very sucessful Messy Church, which meets on the third Thursday of each month and we have a Café-style non-eucharistic service at 9am on the first Sunday of each month. Once a month there is also a Family Service at 10am, unually (but not always) on the Sunday after Messy Church.
From time to time we hold a Sunday evening Service of Praise.
In 2017 we made the commitment to develop the North side of our church, so as to open out our building more dramatically to the wider community and to create a significant entrance on the Dunyeats Road side of the church, with better facilities for people to meet. We call this our NorthReach Project.
