About Us
Founded by St. Aldhelm in the 7th century, the current church was built over 1,000 years ago. St Martin on the Walls is the oldest church in the Benefice of Wareham and one of the oldest in Dorset, retaining some original Anglo-Saxon features. Many visitors and holidaymakers are attracted to it as a result, and because of the effigy of T. E. Lawrence, who lived not too far from Wareham.
Regular mid-week services are held here every Wednesday at 11am.
Additionally we host popular festival services and cultural activities, such as concerts and music recitals.
