This year's Open Gardens was carefully timed to be held on Sunday 14 June when the roses would be in full bloom!
Eight delightful gardens were opened and free parking was available on the village green. Tea and lots of delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches were on sale plus plants and garden tools. Robert Kennett (RHS Gold Medal Winner) was available at one of the gardens to answer any garden-related questions.
It was a wonderful afternoon with visitors from Alderbury, Whiteparish, Pitton, Farley, Winterslow, Salisbury and Wilton. We are very grateful to all the garden owners - we appreciate how much work it takes to get private gardens ready for public display. Everyone we met had a lovely day.
Thank you Steve and Michelle Ferarri for organising everything (including the baking marathon) and to everyone who supported us and help raise nearly £900 for the Save Our Church campaign.
Open Gardens will now be held bi-annually, taking it in turns with West Dean.
