For one weekend only on 9th - 10th August we were honoured to show the 'Of green leaf bird and flower' exhibition of Diana Cotter's work.
Diana is a supremely talented local artist and naturalist, inspired by her love of nature and Bentley Wood. She made over 1,000 exquisite paper flowers which were on display as part of the exhibition.
As Rev Marcia observed, "given the recent possibility that Holy Trinity may have had to close, this was a lovely way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon, with the church building full of people who were appreciating Diana's exceptional artwork. Many reflected that it enabled them to see the building in a new light. This event served as a helpful reminder that the church is not an exclusive club, but a space to be used and enjoyed by all of the community. It was a testament to both Diana's skills as an artist, and the determination of the community not to allow their church building to be closed."
