The Farrants Singers are delighted to be able to return to Broad Chalke for this event and to help in raising funds for the All Saints’ Church Fabric Fund. The Farrant Singers is the longest-established chamber choir in Salisbury, with close links to the medieval city, the surrounding Wiltshire villages and the Cathedral, where the choir occasionally sings services in place of the Cathedral Choir. The group was founded in 1958 and will be conducted by Philip Lawson for this celebration of ‘Gloriana – A Tale of Two Elizabeths’ for the Platinum Jubilee. Amongst other performing roles, Philip spent many years and gave over 2000 concerts as a member of and principle musical arranger for The Kings Singers, of world renown. The Farrant Singers give four large-scale concerts in Salisbury annually, and perform in smaller events around the region, as well as providing music at services, weddings and celebrations. They have sung further afield at services in many cathedrals around the UK and have toured to Ireland, Italy and Germany. The choir comprises around 30 singers and its repertoire includes a wide range of sacred and secular music, spanning many periods and styles
