All Saints’ Church Accessibility Information
All Saints’ Church is in the centre of Westbury between the Market Place and Edward Street.
There is limited parking in the Churchyard (especially for funerals and weddings) so please use the main car park off the High Street unless you have mobility issues which will prevent you from walking the short distance from the car park. If you have mobility or access needs, you are welcome to use the parking in the churchyard, but we would recommend you arrive early.
Please see the Wiltshire Council website for details of parking charges for the town car parks.
The nearest train station is Westbury Train Station, and the church is around a 25 minute walk from the station. The nearest bus stop is located in Edward Street, and the church is roughly a 4 minute walk from this stop. Please consult local bus and train timetables to check service times.
The main entrance into the church is through the South Porch which means going down one step. If you require access without steps please use the West door. During services and events, a member of the welcome team will be able to assist you.
We have a toilet in the church building, just inside the main entrance. The toilet has baby changing facilities and wheelchair access with a grab rail and emergency cord.
At our 9.30am Sunday Communion services, Communion is normally distributed from the chancel step. You do not need to go up the step to receive Communion.
Our 4th Sunday 8am Communion services are held in the Lady Chapel. This is also where our Wednesday morning 11am Communion services are held when they are held in the church. For services held in the Lady Chapel, you do not need to go up any steps to receive the bread and wine.
If you need Communion to be brought to you in your seat at any of our services, please let a member of the welcome team know before the service begins.
Gluten free wafers are available. If you do not wish to take the Communion wine you are welcome to take Communion in one kind by just receiving the bread. If you wish to speak to someone about this before the service, please do feel free to get in touch to discuss your needs.
We have a children’s area at the back of the church with books and toys. Please feel free to use this at any time.
If you require a quiet area or alternative seating, this can be arranged. Please get in touch ahead of your visit and we can talk through what might work best for you.
You are very welcome to bring any sensory aids you might need and to use these during services or events.
Unfortunately, we do not currently have a hearing loop fitted. We have a good sound system, and printed notes and resources are usually available for services and events, including large print versions.
During our All Age Worship services, and for some other services and events, we use a screen at the front of the church. Seating at the front can be made available if you need this to help you to view the screen.
If you would like readings, words of hymns or a timetable for a particular service or event to be sent to you ahead of attending, please get in touch and we will happily organise this for you.
You are welcome to get in touch to discuss any other requirements, to ask questions, to discuss service/event content or structure, to discuss lighting in the building, to discuss particular seating arrangements, or to arrange to visit the church ahead of attending a service or event.
To discuss any access needs please get in touch with Jenny Ashen on 01373 826799
