Open the Book!

There's a dedicated team of volunteers who take part in 'Open the Book' at Burton Bradstock school.

Open the Book is an interactive storytelling and dramatisation of Bible stories.

Here's what happened last week!

On Friday the Open the Book team featured the dramatic escape story of Moses leading the Israelites across the Red Sea. They were hotly pursued by children dressed as Egyptian soldiers and led by Bill Turnhill ((our new member) as the Pharoah. A child commented that this was, ‘well put together and funny’ referring to the Egyptians collapsing in the Red Sea. Our reflection and prayer was based on thinking about people around the world who are treated unfairly. The worship was followed by the judging of the Burton Bradstock School Bake Off! - which was won by Toby. There was an array of delicious cakes all baked by children and these were sold, along with others baked by parents, after school for Children in Need.
