Beckenham: St Barnabas

Our Purpose is to grow in love and knowledge of God

St. Barnabas Beckenham is a small but growing Church of local people.

As Christians we seek to learn more about God, our local community and ourselves.

We believe God loves everyone, whether you go to church or not.

We do not claim absolute knowledge of God or how to live well in life.

We learn more about life through making mistakes, because that’s the way life works.

We welcome everyone – you are welcome to come as you are, not as you think you should be.

We don’t have a problem with doubt in God.

We are grateful that everyone is different; we are all of immense value to God.

We believe a relationship with God transforms lives.

Come as you are. Leave uplifted.

The PCC review and endorse all safeguarding policies annually, at the first meeting of the new PCC, so that new members are aware of their responsibilities and affirm the Parish Policy on Safeguarding. Adult volunteers will be given appropriate support and opportunities for training.

The Parochial Church Council acknowledges its responsibility for all work with children and vulnerable adults done in the name of the Church and requires all those engaged in such work to be properly appointed and supported in accordance with current good practice and guidelines issued through the Diocese of Rochester.
