About Us

St. Francis is the parish church of Petts Wood. We welcome all in Jesus' name, whether they seek God, community and friendship, or just a quiet space to be alone. Our main worship style would probably be characterised as 'High Church/Anglo-Catholic', but in reality our regular membership reflects worship traditions across a broad spectrum.  We have a choir which is always open to new members.

Our church has currently re-opened for private prayer and public worship daily, but with the exception of Morning Prayer, all our services continue to be live-streamed. We are available for weddings, baptisms and funerals. Our vicar, Fr. Stephen is always available to hear confessions formally, or talk through concerns and problems informally.

We have two regular study groups, a regular film night group, a Mothers Union group,  and in normal times a variety of 'one off' events during the year. These  include special Christmas Services and devotions in Holy Week, summer and Christmas fayres, classical/popular concerts, quizzes and miscellaneous social events organised by church members.

We have a large and modern church hall which is available for private hire. A pre-school Bright Beginnings operates from it . In 'non-covid' times a wide variety of community groups/activities are also based there.
