Join us for Safeguarding Sunday 2025 as we come together at our Eucharist Service to celebrate and reflect on what it means to be a truly safe and welcoming church community. The theme this year is - Action speaks louder! Find out more about how we can keep our church community safe for all. At Cuxton, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do—from our clear displays of key contacts and safeguarding policies, to our accessible facilities and friendly, supportive atmosphere. Over 20 of our church members have completed safeguarding training with 8 at leadership level and 20 have also completed DBS checks, helping to create a culture where everyone feels protected, valued, and heard. Information on local and national safeguarding organisations, including Safe Spaces and Thirtyone:eight, is available on our noticeboard and website. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and together, we can make our church a place of trust, compassion, and safety for all.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Cuxton: St Michael & All Angels is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Rochester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Social Care Services.
