The Peninsula Big band is a 15 piece traditional big band formed in 2007 with a blend of professional and experienced regular players who all love the big band style. They play an extensive range of music from the great band leaders such as Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Count Basie to arrangements of more modern music such as the Beatles, Sade, Michael Jackson and The Average white band. Our parish of Cuxton: St Michael & All Angels is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Rochester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. Our Parish Commitment
Our parish takes safeguarding very seriously. Across Cuxton and Halling:
• 21 people hold an up-to-date DBS check
• PSO has updated Safer Recruitment Training
• 14 have completed Domestic Abuse Training
• 21 have completed Basic Awareness Training
• 21 have completed the higher-level Foundation Training
• And 8 have completed Leadership Training
Parish Safeguarding Dashboard, with 97% progress and on a Level 3 Safeguarding Action Plan.
Safeguarding is a standing item at every PCC meeting, meaning it is always being reviewed and improved.
The Safeguarding Hub supports our Parish with safer Recruitment and People Management.
Our church aims to be welcoming to all, with a warm atmosphere from the moment you arrive.
The building is well maintained, clean, and safe with a range of facilities for all ages and abilities offering reassurance that we care for one another not only spiritually but practically.
