Chess Club is located in the beautiful Halling Church! Open to children and young people aged 6–16, our friendly Chess Club meets every Thursday during term time. Admission is completely free, thanks to the generous support of the Parish Council and Halling Church. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced player, everyone is welcome!

Join us for our bell ringing practice session at 7:00–9:00 pm on the last Wednesday of every month at Halling. The other Wednesday practices are at Cuxton Church. Everyone is warmly invited! Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced ringer, come along and meet our friendly team. Bellringing is a fun, social activity that’s great for both physical and mental wellbeing. It’s a hobby for all ages, and we’d love to introduce you to the ropes! Why not give bellringing a go? Come along, learn a new skill, and enjoy a welcoming community at Halling and Cuxton Church. Halling and Cuxton Bellringers have organised an ART (Association Ringing Teachers) M1 Course. This teaches ringers how to teach bellringing to beginners. This is part of our initiative to recruit new bellringers. Neil Jones will be leading this session who is an active member of CCBR and KCACR.

The Mothers’ Union branch meets monthly on 3rd Wednesday morning of each month in Cuxton Church Hall to support community projects and strengthen family life locally and beyond.
Our meetings feature guest speakers, visits, and hands-on activities like crafts and calligraphy that foster friendship and faith. We maintain strong international ties, especially with members in Trinidad and Tobago.
We also partner with PACT (Prison Advice and Care Trust) to support prisoners’ families.
With refreshments, fellowship, and a warm welcome for all, our gatherings are both inspiring and enjoyable.

A simple shoebox packed with love and care can mean so much. Please deliver to Cuxton church on Sunday 25th October or earlier in the month if possible.
Every year, thousands of people take part in Blythswood’s Shoe Box Appeal, filling shoeboxes with gifts for children and adults affected by poverty, trauma and exploitation.
A shoebox filled with simple, practical items such as toiletries, stationery, clothing, sweets and a small gift can bring joy to someone who may have very little. It is about more than the things inside. Each one lets someone know they have not been forgotten.
