Church Groups

The Church provides several groups from various committees at the church. If you wish to join any of the groups, please speak to the Duty Warden at the Sunday service.

Choir
We are pleased to say that our vision to start a new Music Ministry within Church began in the latter part of 2022 with the Leybourne Melody Makers, Praise Choir and Festival Choir and we are grateful to Stephen Thomas and Joe Shepherd for their contributions.

Fundraising Committee (Friends of Leybourne Church)

Join the Friends of Leybourne Church from only £15 per year: Send an email to Lynne Selman

Since its’ formation in 2010 the “Friends” have raised over £60,000 towards Church improvements. The Church Fundraising Committee oversee its work. It is open to anyone – we have members who stay connected this way from all over the world/UK.

We have held a wide range of events appealing to differing audiences. These include: -
· Fireside Talks during the winter months
· a “Gin and It” evening in May
· Tribute band open-air concerts in July
· “Pimm's in the Orchard” in August
· Our ever-popular Christmas events – “Sparkle at the Castle” and black-tie dinners and quiz suppers, with carols and mulled wine around the tree outside, for starters.
· Songs of Praise services in the Church
· Catwalk shows/clothes sales
· … and much more.

Sadly Covid-19 has put all 2020 activities on hold (except for the fireside talks which were conducted over ZOOM). This has had a serious, adverse effect on fundraising income, as you will appreciate. So, membership/subs are even-more important during this difficult period.

For more information of information on FLC events, please see the News stories page.

Social Committee
The Social Committee was established to provide events that cater for all members of the church and local community. We have events throughout the year and meet regularly to discuss them and think of new ones.

We are here to organize events for the congregation at the absolute minimum cost. We have no budget! If we put on an event, we must neither make a profit, nor a loss.

We are not fundraising but provide a social service to the community. Many of our events cater for all ages and we frequently try to incorporate ideas and suggestions from church members. We are most fortunate in our church to have a congregation with a wide range of talents from whom our members are drawn. This enables us to think of varying activities that appeal to diverse groups within the church.

Walking Group
Organised walks in London, the coast, and National Trust properties within driving distance of Leybourne. It is recommended that you are a National Trust member to fully benefit from some of these visits.
