We realise that in the past some Churches have been places where people found abuse rather than security and healing. So safeguarding is key to our Church life. Our Benefice is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSOs), who can be contacted on the email addresses below. The Diocese of Gloucester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA on 01452 835516 (out of hours, 07944 680320). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police on 999 and your local authority Children Services on 01454 866000, or for a Vulnerable Adult 01454 868007 (Out of hours emergency team for Children and Adults, 01454 615165

Most churches are “Excepted Charities” and are therefore not registered with the Charity Commission. You can download a PDF that includes your church name, address and church code. This PDF, which is an extract from the Church of England’s database of churches, can serve as a certificate for churches requiring proof of their charity status when registering for online and card-based giving.
