We are delighted to announce that Bishop Sarah has appointed the Revd Anita Burke to be Priest-in-Charge of Christ Church New Seaham.  The licensing will take place in Christ Church on Tuesday 25th November, 7pm, all are welcome.

As a church we serve the needs of the New Seaham community. Our vision pathway is to Belong - Believe - Become - Bless

We're an inclusive and friendly Church where everyone will find a warm welcome... we're all about building family and serving community. 

We have some fabulous events and services lined up in Nov & Dec:

7th Dec, 2.30pm - Christmas Craft Fair in the Church Hall

7th Dec, 5pm - Carols by Candlelight with Trimdon Brass Band in church

20th Dec, 5pm - Pre-Christmas Pause, a gentle candlelit service in church for those who have lost loved ones

21st Dec, 6.30pm - Movie Night on the big screen in the church hall - 'The Nativity - Journey of a Lifetime'

24th Dec, 5pm - Christingle - family fun

24th Dec, 9pm - Christmas Eve Communion Service

25th Dec, 10am - Christmas morning family service

28th Dec, 12-6pm - Prayer Drop-in, 6 hrs of prayer time to pray out 2025 and pray in 2026

SERVICES:

10am Sunday - Communion Service including contemporary worship (apart from the last Sunday of the month which is a lay-led All-Together service).

6.30pm Sunday - 'Cafe Church'  in our Church Hall, a safe place to explore faith always with a cuppa with cake! 

11.30am Tuesdays - short Communion service in our Community Hub,  'The Well' in our Church Hall, and stay afterwards for a light lunch and cuppa (pay-as-you-feel). 

CHILDREN:

2nd Sunday morning every month - Kids@ChristChurch - in the Church Hall during the 10am service as our team grows we hope to offer this weekly.

10-11.30am - Thursdays (term time), Church Mice Toddlers (0-3yrs olds)

Seasonal events at Christmas, Easter, Summer and autumn.

PRAYER:

9.30am Wednesdays - Morning Prayer in Church

10am Fridays - every fortnight, Prayer Walk in the local community

Team prayer takes place with the team at 9.30am every Tuesday and Thursday.

Monthly prayer meeting for our local community -  every 2nd Thursday of the month, 6.00pm. 

COMMUNITY:

10am-2pm, Tuesdays - Community hub, 'The Well', offering pay-as-you-feel refreshments, various table-top activities, free groceries at our People's Pantry and a pop-up pre-loved seasonal clothing stall.

DISCIPLESHIP:

6pm, Tuesdays,  we host our discipleship group (Believe & Become) in the Church Hall.

BAPTISMS:

For Baptism/Christening enquiries please attend a Sunday service and speak to Rev'd Anita afterwards over refreshments.

The Parochial Church Council of Christ Church New Seaham is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for everyone, especially for children, young people and vulnerable adults.

At Christ Church we prioritise prayer. Our aim is to encourage and enable prayer in an accessible way for all ensuring praise, gratitude and confession as a way to connect with the Trinity, strengthen faith, and develop a personal relationship with God.

Tuesday and Wednesday Prayers are weekly commencing 9.30am. Fridays are fortnightly commencing 10am.

Pray out 2025 and pray in 2026 - prayer drop-in between 12pm-6pm on Sunday 28th December
