Scotton: St Thomas

Welcome to St Thomas' Church, Scotton.

We are a small rural parish church, built during the Victorian era and consecrated in May 1889 as a chapel of ease for the parish of Farnham. The church was licensed for marriages in 1922.

Our simple yet beautiful interior features examples of the craftsmanship of Robert Thompson of Kilburn, together with an impressive east window by Anne Sutherland. Behind the west wall is our peaceful Garden of Rest, offering a quiet place for reflection and remembrance.

St Thomas' is a friendly and welcoming church for people of all ages. We enjoy a close relationship with Scotton Methodist Church and seek to serve our local community together.

We currently hold two services each month:

  • Second Sunday – Family Village Service at 9.30am
  • Fourth Sunday – Holy Communion at 9.30am

Messy Church takes place in Scotton Village Hall on the fourth Sunday of each month, from 10.30am to 12 noon, following the Holy Communion service. Everyone is warmly welcome.

The church is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from approximately 9.00am until dusk (around 4.00pm in winter and 6.00pm in summer). If you would like to visit at another time, private openings can be arranged through one of the Churchwardens.
