St Bartholomew's Church Arkendale

Situated at the heart of the picturesque village of Arkendale, St Bartholomew's Church occupies a prominent position at the highest point of the village, where its two main streets meet. A place of Christian worship has stood on this site since the 14th century. The present church building was completed in 1836 and holds a special place in local history as the first church to be consecrated in the newly formed Diocese of Ripon in January 1837.

Our historic village church is open daily from 10am to 5pm, welcoming visitors, pilgrims and those seeking a quiet place for reflection. Whether you are exploring the local area, interested in church history, or simply looking for a peaceful space, we invite you to visit and sign our visitors' book.

Everyone is warmly welcome to join us for worship at St Bartholomew's Church, Arkendale.

We hold Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month and a Family Village Service on the third Sunday of each month, with both services beginning at 9.30am. Please check our calendar for details of special services, seasonal celebrations and community events throughout the year.

We look forward to welcoming you to our church community in Arkendale, near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
