The committee that manages each Church of England parish is a group of charity trustees called a Parochial Church Council (PCC for short). We'll put PCC info on this page bit by bit as time permits, but if you want to know more about how the church is managed, you can always contact Rev Gill, or the PCC Secretary for the parish you're interested in.
Each church will have information relating to their meetings and management under their PCC page, but there are generic requirements for PCC members. In the Diocese of Exeter a person who may have been voted onto a PCC cannot take up that role until they have spent a few hours to complete the compulsory safeguarding modules. There are many different ways of doing this, and support throughout. The required modules are Basic, Foundation and Domestic Abuse. Our previous curate, Revd Phill Parker, was part of the Diocesan Safeguarding Team before ordination, and produced a helpful guidance document which you can see by going to the Diocesan Safeguardng Training page and clicking on the words “Which safeguarding modules do I require for my role and function?” https://exeter.anglican.org/resources/safeguarding/safeguarding-training/
