Every Wednesday at 10am we gather in the Priest Room for a quiet Midweek Communion followed by refreshments and conversation. Rev Gill and Canon Tim take turns to lead, and every now and when they are not available our local lay minister (Reader) Richard leads a short service of Morning Prayer. It is a very homely and comforting space to be in for these short and welcoming times of worship.

We say farewell to Sylvia with a funeral service in St Constantine’s, Milton Abbot, followed by a private burial at All Saints’, Dunterton.

Every 2nd Sunday of the month we have Holy Communion in St Mary's, announced by the church bells. Good access and excellent quality coffee (or something stronger) and biscuits after the service.

Meet at the War Memorial in the churchyard at 10.45am on Remembrance Sunday for our parish Act of Remembrance, then into St Constantine's Church for the rest of the Remembrance Service.

Coryton and Marystowe's Remembrance Service is held at St Andrew's, Coryton this year. Please do arrive in good time. The service will begin outside at 10.45am for the Act of Remembrance before moving into church. This year, as we mark the 80th Anniversary, we have a particular remembrance focus on the War in the Far East, which builds on the work we've been doing with Lewtrenchard CE Primary School, along with Chris and Josie.

There will be a private Committal at the crematorium in the morning, followed by a Funeral Service of Thanksgiving, to which all are invited, followed by refreshments in Lamerton Village Hall.

All are welcome to our monthly service of Morning Praise followed by refreshments.

Each month we gather in St Peter's Church, Lamerton, for Holy Communion. We pray for the world and our community, sing hymns, listen to bible readings, and commemorate the Eucharist. The service is followed by refreshments in the Priest Room (the beautiful ancient building at the gate to the churchyard).

Everyone welcome: This is a service for all, so please do not worry about children or babies being noisy. They are very welcome. If you want to come but want an extra pair of hands, do just ask. Our volunteers are all DBS checked and undergo regular safeguarding training (many of them volunteer in local schools).

The Communion: The service of Holy Communion is open to all. If you do not normally receive communion you are very welcome to come up for a prayer of blessing. The priest goes to the seats of anyone who cannot come to the altar. If you require gluten free, it would be helpful if either you could let us know in advance or, more simply, just bring a tiny square of your own GF bread in a little bit of foil, so that it can be consecrated alongside the wafers, whilst kept separate. If you have a severe allergy please do let us know so that the full additional precautions can be taken.

Access: The main churchyard entrance has steps, so if you need assistance accessing St Peter's, please do let us know so we can try the alternative route. It is also okay to turn up and we will always help as far as we can.

St Constantine, Milton Abbot, welcomes you to this service of Holy Communion followed by refreshments. If you would like support to attend the service (a lift, or someone to guide you or sit with) do let us know. This service has the church organ (provided by Val) and if it is a cold day, remember to wrap up warm, as there is no heating in this church. There is a wheelchair-friendly path from the top lych gate (the main road).

We manage to fit seven well-known and loved songs and hymns into this ever-popular service! Great atmosphere and a frequently full church. Come and see!

Held at Marystowe, this is a festal Communion Service to mark Advent Sunday 2025. Advent Sunday is the Church's "New Year's Day" so join us from all around the benefice and beyond as we begin the quiet Advent journey to Christmas and light our first Advent Candle. PLEASE NOTE LATER TIME OF 10.30AM BY POPULAR REQUEST.

The infamous Sydenham Damerel Christmas Quiz, an evening of music, song, film, and a few tricky questions, will be on Saturday the 6th of December at 7pm in St Mary’s. The entrance fee is £6 per person and as usual the proceeds will be split between St Mary’s and the Devon Air Ambulance.

The capacity of St Mary’s is limited to 9 quiz teams of 6. Last year we had 9 teams enter and this year it is possible we will exceed the capacity as I have been approached by a couple of new teams wanting a place on the quiz.

Four of the 9 tables will be reserved for the previous year’s winning team and teams entered by those that help with the quiz and all the other events during the year. That leaves five tables available which, if we are oversubscribed, will be allocated by ballot.

If you would like to enter a team for the quiz, can you let me know by the 15th of November and tell me how many people are likely to be in your team. I will draw the successful teams out of a hat on Sunday the 16th of November.

This is a one-off event - a traditional Holy Communion from the Book of Common Prayer. The service will be printed clearly for people to follow along. We will also have some traditional Advent hymns (think Hills Of The North Rejoice!) and the service will be followed by the usual "Coryton Coffee" (sherry and sustenance). Rev Gill will lead us in this service.

Join us for a traditional Advent Carol Service at 2.30pm on Sunday 7th December in the beautiful candlelit church at Dunterton. Seasonal refreshments after the service. Contact Christine Youds or John Spensley for information on parking - otherwise follow the signs on the day.

This is a popular event every year but this is our first Crib & Christingle with Rev Gill. Come and see what it's all about. All ages welcome. Christingles prepared at Lamerton C E Primary School in advance.

This has been evolving year on year and is increasingly popular. Last year we combined the village Craft Fair and BBQ with the church Christmas carols and panto event. It worked so well we're doing it again this year! Running order roughly: 5.30pm start with Children's Carols (thanks to the children of Lew Trenchard C E Primary), then Panto begins around 6pm, then Craft Fair until 8.30pm, topped off with the barbeque, courtesy of the Virgin Arms (Marystowe's own pop-up pub). Don't miss it!

We are joined by children from Milton Abbot Primary School to assist us in our singing this evening. Come and enjoy singing combined with making Christingles. Plenty of fun for everyone!

We are already lighting our third advent candle! Come and join us for this short non-eucharistic service.

On the 1st Sunday of each month, come and enjoy a gentle service of Holy Communion in the parish church of St Mary the Virgin, Marystowe. Usually led either by Priest in Charge, the Revd Gill George, or our retired priest, Canon Tim Thompson, this service includes hymns. Marystowe does not have their own organist so you may sometimes find Gill playing the organ while Tim leads! Prayers are offered on behalf of the community, so do let us know if you want your name included in the public prayers. The service follows the Church of England words for Common Worship Holy Communion, and is followed by refreshments.

Communion: all are welcome to receive Holy Communion if it is your custom in your home church. If you require gluten free, and are unable to let us know in advance, do feel free to bring a small cube of your own gluten free bread in a small foil wrap, which will be given to the priest to consecrate in the foil at the same time as the wafers. If your allergy is life-threatening, please do let us know so that additional handling procedures can be followed.
Blessing: If you feel unable to receive communion you are encouraged to come to the altar rail for a prayer of blessing instead.
Access: If you are unable to get to the altar rail, the priest will bring communion to you in your seat at that point in the service.
