About Us
The Parish of Kingsthorpe
The Parish of Kingsthorpe is a vibrant Team Ministry made up of three distinct churches serving one diverse and welcoming community in the north of Northampton. Together, we seek to love God, serve our neighbours, and offer places of worship where everyone can belong.
Our parish brings together the rich heritage of Kingsthorpe village with the energy of the surrounding suburbs, creating a community that is varied, warm, and full of life.
⭐ Who We Are
We are a Church of England parish made up of three churches working in partnership:
St John the Baptist - a beautiful, historic church at the heart of old Kingsthorpe, with centuries of worship and community life woven into its stones.
St Mark’s - built to serve the growing northern suburbs of Northampton, offering a welcoming and flexible space for modern worship and community activities.
St David’s - a friendly, community‑centred church serving the eastern side of the parish with accessible worship and strong local connections.
Together, we form one parish family with shared values, shared ministry, and a shared commitment to our community.
🕊 Our Parish: A Place of History and Diversity
Kingsthorpe has a long and fascinating history, dating back over a thousand years. Once a rural village, it has grown into a lively and diverse part of Northampton, blending historic streets and green spaces with newer housing and vibrant neighbourhoods.
Our parish reflects this diversity - from the ancient churchyard of St John’s to the suburban communities around St Mark’s and St David’s. We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences, and we celebrate the richness this brings to our worship and community life.
