4 U community café is a central hub for the local residents of Kingsthorpe, Eastern Avenue. We are a non-profit making enterprise existing to serve the community, and any excess generated will be put back into the community.

We aim to provide local residents with an excellent café experience, serving beverages and breakfasts at a minimal cost. Run by volunteers from the local community

We will be celebrating Harvest on Sunday 4th October with a service in each of our churches that morning.

If you would like to make a donation, we will be accepting dried food and cans for St David's Food Bank or financial donations for Tearfund’s Harvest Appeal, providing seeds of transformation in areas affected by climate change.

Bloom is our monthly evening meet‑up for women of working age, gathering in a local pub for relaxed conversation, laughter and genuine connection. There’s no agenda, no activities to prepare for and no pressure to perform - just a warm, welcoming space to unwind and build friendships at your own pace.

Bloom is especially shaped for those who can’t access daytime groups but still want community, companionship and a place to belong.

Whether you’re new, returning or simply looking for friendly faces, you’re always welcome to join us.

Woodland Church meets monthly at Bradlaugh Fields for outdoor wandering, wondering and creativity for all ages.
Start outside St David’s Church at 1.30pm to walk over together or join us at the park gates by the play area at 1.45pm. Always involves tea and cakes together in the barn around 2.45pm.

Join us for a short service of Said Holy Communion. Followed by refreshments. You are welcome to stay for Cafe Church afterwards

Relaxed and welcoming: A chance to share breakfast and conversation around tables in a friendly atmosphere.

Food & fellowship: Breakfast is served from 10.30am, before the service begins at 11am.

Worship together: We explore faith in an informal style, with space for reflection, discussion, and prayer.

Holy Communion: For those who wish, there is also a short service of Said Holy Communion at 10am, followed by refreshments before Café Church begins.

This joint service is a wonderful opportunity to meet across our parish, enjoy good food, and grow together in faith and friendship.

🕯️ Service of Remembering – All Souls’ Day

On Sunday 1st November at 6pm, we gather at St John the Baptist Church for our All Souls’ Day Service — a quiet, prayerful space to remember loved ones who have died and to hold their names before God.

This service offers time for stillness and reflection, whether your loss is recent or long‑ago. All are welcome to come, sit, listen, and remember in the gentle company of others.

Join us for a simple meal together followed by worship and reflection.

After taking a little break last year, we’re delighted to share that our much‑loved Christmas Tree Festival is back this November. It’s always a joyful way to begin the festive season together, and we can’t wait to fill St John the Baptist Church with creativity, colour and Christmas cheer once again.

A traditional service of well-known Christmas carols and Bible readings telling the story of Jesus' birth, with the singing led by our church choir.

Our Christmas Eve Christingle serivce, following the story of the nativity with plenty of Christmas carols!

This service is particularly geared for children and families, and is very popular. There is a magical moment when the candles are lit and the electric lights go out, and a carol is sung by candlelight.

Celebrate Christmas Day as it begins. Enjoy singing Christmas carols, hear again of the birth of Jesus.

Join us at one of our churches for a short, relaxed and family-orientated service of Holy Communion. Get out of the house, take time on Christmas morning to sing carols, hear Christmas readings and thank God for Jesus.

At joint services, our three churches—St David’s, St John the Baptist, and St Mark’s—come together as one community to share in Holy Communion. This joint service is a joyful expression of our unity in Christ and our shared mission in Kingsthorpe.

Worship together: Rooted in scripture, prayer, and sacrament, with hymns and music that bring our voices together in praise.

Community across parishes: A chance to meet friends old and new from across our three congregations, strengthening bonds of fellowship.

Sacrament shared: We gather around one table, receiving bread and wine as a sign of Christ’s love and presence among us.

Atmosphere: Welcoming, prayerful, and friendly, with refreshments afterwards to continue the fellowship.
