Holiday Club: A Week of Adventure and Spiritual Discovery

This past week, children from the community embarked on an exciting journey at Holiday Club, led by the adventurous duo, Lightning Jack and Flash Pan Annie. Over five days, participants engaged in a treasure hunt filled with clues, crafts, games, and stories, all while discovering the true meaning of treasure.

The adventure began on Monday with the story of Adam and Eve, exploring the concept of being lost and the comforting message that God always seeks us out. Tuesday’s theme, “Fool’s Gold,” taught the children about the fleeting nature of material wealth through the tale of the Rich Fool.

Midweek, the story of the Prodigal Son on Wednesday highlighted the themes of forgiveness and the joy of returning home to God. Thursday brought the tale of Daniel, showcasing courage and faithfulness in the face of adversity, complete with a thrilling lion encounter.

The week concluded on Friday with the story of Zacchaeus, illustrating the profound impact of being known, forgiven, and loved by Jesus. This revelation was the true treasure the children discovered.

Holiday Club was more than just fun and games; it was a chance for children to delve into life’s big questions and explore their faith. Supported by 23 volunteers from four local churches, the event saw 27 young participants engage in various activities, from crafting to storytelling.

As the week wrapped up, the community expressed gratitude to everyone involved, especially to God, for a memorable experience filled with laughter, friendship, and spiritual growth. The adventure may have ended, but the journey of discovering God’s love continues.
