Celebrating Life Events at The Parish of Wyke Regis
Life is full of moments worth marking with love, prayer, and community. Baptisms, weddings, and funerals bring the Church of England into close contact with thousands of people every year. At The Parish of Wyke Regis, we are here for you at every stage of life to celebrate, to support, and to walk alongside you.
Baptism / Christening
Baptism (sometimes referred to as a Christening) is a joyful way to celebrate God's love and become part of His family. It marks the beginning of a journey of faith for children and adults alike.
- For children: Parents and godparents make promises to help them grow in faith.
- For adults: Baptism is a way of saying "yes" to following Jesus.
In every baptism, the church promises to support and pray for you.
If you'd like to explore baptism for yourself or your child, please don't hesitate to contact the parish office or use our 'Get in Touch' page, selecting 'Baptism/Christening' as your enquiry subject.
Marriage
Getting married is a joyful and life-changing step, and we'd love to celebrate it with you here at The Parish of Wyke Regis.
A church wedding is about more than a beautiful setting; it's about asking for God's blessing on your life together and beginning your Marriage in His presence.
- If you live in the parish, arranging a wedding is a straightforward process.
- If you don't, you may still be able to marry here if you have a qualifying connection under Church of England rules.
If you'd like to find out more about getting married in one of our churches, please don't hesitate to contact the parish office or use our 'Get in Touch' page, selecting 'Marriage' as your enquiry subject.
Funerals
When someone we love dies, we want to give thanks for their life, commend them to God's care, and find comfort and hope together.
Church of England funerals can take place here at either of our churches, at a local crematorium, or at the graveside.
We will guide you through every step of the process to ensure the service reflects your loved one's life and brings comfort to those who gather.
Usually, a funeral director will contact us on your behalf; however, you are also welcome to contact the parish office directly or use our 'Get in Touch' page, selecting 'Funeral' as your enquiry subject.
