This Sunday – All Saints, Baptism, Fellowship and Remembrance

Dear friends,

Tomorrow, Sunday 1 November, we have four quite different opportunities to gather across Middle Esk Moor.

It's All Saints' Day, when we give thanks for those who have gone before us in faith and remember that we, too, are part of God's family. Alongside our morning worship, we'll be celebrating a baptism, enjoying music and reflections at Fellowship Space, and gathering to remember loved ones at our All Souls service.

9.00 am – Morning Prayer

St James', Lealholm

I'll be leading our usual Sunday morning worship as we celebrate All Saints' Day. Our readings remind us that we are God's children now, and Jesus' Beatitudes help us reflect on what it means to follow him in our everyday lives.

A gentle and prayerful way to begin Sunday.

10.45 am – Holy Communion and Baptism

St Mary's, Goathland

This Sunday we'll also be celebrating the baptism of Wyatt Wood. We're looking forward to welcoming  a new member of our church and their family and friends as we share in Holy Communion and celebrate this important beginning in his life of faith.

All Saints' Day is a particularly lovely occasion for a baptism, reminding us that we belong to God's family through his love, and that we continue to grow together in faith.

3.00 pm – Fellowship Space with Rob Parker

The Hollins Institute, Grosmont

Helen and Chris are delighted to welcome Rob Parker, who will be sharing songs and reflections from his album and companion book, There Is Hope.

This promises to be a lovely afternoon of music, encouragement, friendship and reflection.

Refreshments provided, and everyone welcome. Do bring friends along. Please note the earlier 3.00 pm winter start time.

The Hollins Institute is at the corner of Institute and Office Row, Grosmont, YO22 5PQ. Parking is available on Front Street.

4.00 pm – All Souls Service

St Thomas', Glaisdale

Jackie Newton will be leading our All Souls service, offering a quiet and prayerful opportunity to remember those we have loved and lost.

For some of us, bereavement is very recent. For others, the people we remember died many years ago, but remain very much part of our lives.

This is a chance to remember them with love and thanksgiving, to bring our sadness before God, and to find comfort and hope in his presence.

Everyone is warmly welcome, whether you're a regular churchgoer or not.

Four different gatherings, each offering something special and valuable in its own way.

Whatever your circumstances, and whichever gathering feels right for you, we'd love to see you. Please do share this invitation with anyone who might appreciate it.

With all good wishes,

Anthony
