St Peter & St Paul Edgefield

We have the newest church in the benefice, consecrated in 1884. The old church had fallen into such a state of disrepair that Canon Walter Marcon, whose father was rector here before him, decided to build a new church more - central to both halves of the village, The Street and The Green. This was quite an undertaking - come and visit and find out more!

You are warmly invited to our Sunday morning service — a time of song, prayer, reflection, and shared worship. This is a Eucharist (or Holy Communion) service, where we remember and give thanks for the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Whether you’ve been to church many times before or this is your very first visit, you’ll be made to feel welcome. There’s no dress code and no expectations — just come as you are.

The service includes hymns (songs), readings from the Bible, a short talk, and the sharing of bread and wine (or a blessing if you prefer not to receive communion). Children are very welcome — we’re used to a bit of noise and movement, and there’s space for them to feel comfortable.

After the service, we’d love you to stay for a cup of tea or coffee, a biscuit, and a chat. It’s a great way to meet others and find out more if you’re curious.

Edgefield Church is a place for everyone — wherever you are on your journey of faith (or even if you’re just wondering what it’s all about), you are welcome here.
